Opportunity Class (OC) Placement Test Preparation

The Opportunity Class (OC) Placement Test is designed for academically gifted Year 4 students seeking entry into Year 5 OC programs in NSW public schools. These programs provide an enriched and challenging curriculum tailored to high-potential learners.

New Test Format (From 2025)

As of 2025, the OC Placement Test is computer-based and includes:

  • Reading – 25 multiple-choice questions | 30 minutes

  • Mathematical Reasoning – 35 multiple-choice questions | 40 minutes

  • Thinking Skills – 30 multiple-choice questions | 30 minutes

Selective High School Placement Test Preparation

The Selective High School Placement Test is designed for academically gifted Year 6 students seeking entry into Selective High Schools and Agricultural High Schools across New South Wales in Year 7. These schools offer an academically enriched environment tailored to high-performing learners.

The test is conducted annually in May, with results typically released in July.


Test Format (Effective 2025)

The 2025 Selective Test is computer-based and includes:

  • Reading – 16 questions (including multi-part items) | 40 minutes | Multiple choice | 25%

  • Mathematical Reasoning – 35 questions | 40 minutes | Multiple choice | 25%

  • Thinking Skills – 40 questions | 40 minutes | Multiple choice | 25%

NAPLAN TEST PREPARATION

NAPLAN Preparation – Years 3, 5, 7 & 9

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a national, computer-based test that assesses essential skills in reading, writing, language conventions, and numeracy. It is conducted every May for students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 in all Australian schools.
